I know I am not the only one who considers January to be the perfect month for a new start. You open a fresh new planner or turn the page on your calendar and suddenly the time feels right to establish new rules and routines. I’m not the biggest fan of traditional new years resolutions, such as “lose ten pounds”, but am still trying to form goals, wishes and plans for the new year. So today, I want to give you an insight into my 2018 goals so you may be inspired or get a glimpse of what’s going on over here.
My 2018 Goals
+ FOCUS ON THE GOOD: I honestly can be such a grump and often focus on the bad things only. So for 2018 I want to actively try to focus on the good stuff and not bother too much about the shitty things that happen. Here’s to a more positive new year!
+ JANUARY SHOPPING BAN: This one is almost a tradition for me. In December I’m always quiet spendy because I adore buying gifts for others (and myself, of course). However, in January I always try to be more savy. In 2018 I want to put myself on a little shopping ban, already starting today, in which I only buy the things I really need and restrain from engaging in a little Zara purchase here and there.
+ BE MINDFUL: This one goes hand in hand with focusing on the good. In 2017 I have been feeling depressed quite a lot and didn’t feel on top of my game when it comes to my mental health. So next year I’m trying to be more mindful, present and in the moment, rather than working myself up on things I cannot change anyway.
+ HEALTHY HABITS: Again, this does not mean I want to hit the gym and eat healthy – although I of course also want to keep up with that. However, it’s more a mental health thing. No more bad thoughts. No more tearing myself apart.
+ TRAVEL MORE: One thing I definitely have neglected this year has been travelling. And I really want to change that in 2018. One goal here is to finally treat myself to a trip to Marrakesh!
+ GET BACK TO BLOGGING: Truth is, in 2017 I kind of lost my mojo when it comes to the blog due to everything that was happening in my private life. For next year I plan on getting back into it because writing this I realize that I actually really did miss it. So thanks for staying even though it was quiet boring over here in the past couple of weeks!
