Last week me and Lisa from Mycafeaulait were invited to a Lush VIP Tour in Graz. It made me think back of my first “Lush experience“. It was in 2012 when we travelled to Dublin for a field trip in school. We had some time to explore the city and I somehow stumbled upon a Lush shop. I entered and immediately fell in love. The smell was just unbelievable and their products all looked SO pretty. So I bought some bath-bombs and went to heaven. Ever since I’ve been a big fan of this company. So when I got the invitation I was squealing with excitement!
Lush VIP Tour: Behind the scenes
So what exactly is a Lush VIP Tour? Well, first we were introduced to Limi who was our host for the day. She was telling us about the company, their philosophy and introducing us to beloved best-sellers as well as new products and special editions. Also we were encouraged to ask any questions we had.
I always wanted to know why not all of the Lush products were vegan, so Limi explained that some products need egg for protein and honey for luxurious textures. Other than that, about 80% of their products are completely vegan. Also they’re really keen on their “no animal-testing” philosophy and make sure that every of their ingredients comes from companies that do not test on animals, which is great I think!
Another thing that is absolutely remarkable is the fact that Lush turned 20 years old last year. Nowadays there are a lot of companies taking up on greenwashing because veganism and sustainability are becoming a mainstream thing. I never thought Lush was that old and was absolutely surprised about the fact that they’ve basically been the inventors of that whole all-natural, cruelty-free beauty thing. Oh AND did you know that Lush now also sells sunscreen? Duh, didn’t know that but it smells absolutely divine.
Lush Mother’s Day Products
As it’s Mother’s day on Sunday, of course, Lush also created some limited edition products for that occasion. They have a small selection of bath-bombs, ready-packed presents and one shower-gel. You can check out all their Mother’s Day Products »here« or in the shops but I’m gonna tell you a little bit more about the ones that I was given in my goodie-bag.
I absolutely love this one as it looks like a tea bag, and duh I love tea bags. Flowering Tea is a reusable petal filled bubble bar. I’m really enjoying the fact that you can use it multiple times as Lush bath-bombs aren’t that cheap and using them more often than once basically makes them a tad cheaper! AND it looks fabulous!
Ladybird is one of the cutest Lush bath-bombs I’ve ever seen. It just looks adorable and I am not sure if I ever wanna use it because it looks SO pretty.
Rose Bombshell is the bath-bomb that you can see me putting into the water in that picture below. It smells luxuriously of roses and turns your bath water into a milky rose-y experience that’s unlike any other. I think this one just turned into one of my all-time favorite bath-bombs.
Yummy mummy is a lilac shower-gel with tonka and cocoa butter. I honestly knew I wanted it once I saw the pretty color but what really sold me is the incredible smell and texture!
Ok these are not Mother’s Day products BUT they’re new anyways! The toothy-tabs are basically a new way of toothpaste. You pop one of the little pills into your mouth, chew them and then brush with your toothbrush. They come in different flavors and variants. I decided to go for the classic “Miles of Smiles” ones and already tried them. I think they’re a little weird to use at first because we’re definitely not used to that kind of tooth-paste but they can be really amazing for traveling with hand-luggage because they don’t count as liquid. So that’s definitely a plus for all travelers!
What’s your lush story? Have you ever tried one of their limited edition products? And what’s your favorite product in general?
